BOB BOB BOB



This evening’s students were the beginner adult from two weeks ago and an ongoing adult with buoyancy issues. Today’s key was the BOB. This simple skill helps the students understand the rhythm for breathing during the strokes as well as gain the feel of buoyancy. Here’s the review:

Bob all the way across the pool. Use your arms to help you get some distance. See if you can bunny hop at least a half foot forward each hop. Remember to bubble out your breath when you are underwater so you ONLY suck in air when you mouth is above water. It does not have to be a big breath since you’ll catch another on the next bob. The bob will help you gain the rhythm for breathing during the strokes as well as the feel of buoyancy. Slow and steady, no need to rush it.
